«New Template»

I've spend the last day and a half creating this new template. The old template was Blogger's Minima Lefty stretch with a modified color theme. This new one is one I built.

I used Blogger's TicTac template as a base, but I've totally re-made it. It's more-or-less a combination of TicTac, Minima Lefty, and Minyx. The Minyx template can be found and downloaded at various websites. I like the color theme I had before, so I did a little photoshop work to get things to look the way I wanted. It's best if viewed at 1024x768 resolution or higher.

What do you think of the new layout?

I hope it doesn't break horribly in different browsers. I use Firefox 2.0, and I've tested it with IE 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions). Seems to look the same. Leave a comment if it's screwed up for you. Or better yet, email me a screenshot if it's screwed up.

I have a new poll up, asking if you like the new template. The results of the previous poll question: "The epic question: Who would win in a fight" were Ninja 6, Pirate 2, and Shark with a frickin' laser beam attached to its head 4. For the longest time there was no love for the pirates. I think I need more pastafarians reading my blog...

For comparison, old is on the left and new is on the right (click images to view full):

  1. It might be nicer if the content stretches horizontally when you resize. It only re-centers at the moment.

Ketchikan, Alaska? I am full of envy. Do you have snow now? You should post some pictures. Oh to be running around in the snow rather than having this unreasonably comfortable, 70 degree weather!

  2. Took a good look a your new template. Once my eyes got adjusted to things being the opposite to my blog, and more on the horizontal line, the have to agree, it looks good and really suits the info on your blog. So a yes vote for me.

Try as I might, I couldn't get the header to work with a stretching template. And I noticed a lot of web pages and most blogs don't anyway. So I figured it wasn't too big of a deal.
No snow. We've had more than usual this year, but only about 2 feet max at any time. Right now it's 40 degrees and raining. We had winds between 40-60 mph this morning. It's our usual weather for 3/4th of the year. The other 1/4th is summer, where it's a little warmer and raining.

Yeah, most of the blogger templates have the sidebar on the right side. I wanted the template to allow larger images. Most just clip an image that's too wide. I didn't want the images to overlap the sidebar. Also, I just prefer it on the left.

Thanks for the comments you guys!
