«Page 161 Tag»

I've been tagged by Looney...

The "Page 161 tag" is where you quote a complete sentence from page 161 of something you are reading. Amazing that Looney caught me when I'm actually reading something. I usually don't read books. I do all my reading online usually. But right now I am reading "The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster".

I'd like to add, page 161 was not the best page to be tagged for this book, page 161 has mathematical proofs of His existence, and not too many complete sentences. So, from page 161 of "The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster":

Microsoft is one of the most successful businesses in history, undoubtedly as a result of their secret ties to the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

- Bobby Henderson

What's even more interesting, there's some truth to Microsoft's ties to the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Check this out, there's a Flying Spaghetti Monster sculpture displayed on Microsoft's campus. Here's a picture of it:

There's even rumors that the sculpture was commissioned by Bill Gates himself. It's kinda funny how nearly everything about this religion coincidently falls in place.

And Monique: tag, you're it.

  1. On a positive note, there are less plausible assertions that have been made in Harvard Business Review regarding the success of Microsoft than the flying spaghetti monster. Knowing how software types handle their food and hygiene, I am sure that there is plenty of evidence of the flying spaghetti monster that can be found on the clothing of the Microsoft employees. Been there myself actually ...

  2. Maybe you can lend me the book, because as interesting as I find all of this - honestly I'm clueless.

Why is this such a big deal ??

    Should I know ?

  3. @ Monique: You did see that I tagged you, right? And I'm sure you'll see more about the Flying Spaghetti Monster here on this blog in the future.

As far as lending you the book, it isn't practical. Maybe I'd lend it to you if we lived in the same town. You could always buy it from Amazon...

  4. Yep, saw the tag, I'm going to do it today...

I was kidding about the book Marf. I am going to try to gain some understanding of this spaghetti monster issue, but not by having you ship a book 3000 miles. You are so funny.
