«Cruise Ship Watch: Dawn Princess, Mercury, and Norwegian Sun»

5 ships were in today; Dawn Princess, Mercury, Norwegian Sun, Star Princess, Zaandam. There's room at the docks for 4, so one (the Mercury) anchored out. When anchored out, they use the lifeboats to ferry tourists back and forth between the ship and town.

As always, I'll show the pictures of ones I don't have on my blog yet. Also as always, click an image to view full.

Norwegian Sun, notice the artwork of the sun on the bow.

Mercury, anchored out. You can see a lifeboat in the water on the side of the ship.

  1. They certainly look impressive. I have some relatives who like to blow large sums of money on cruises, but have never quite felt tempted. Except for a 3 day cruise on a 60 foot diving boat in a storm. I remember my friends running around the deck at 2:00AM drunk and laughing at me while I was hanging over the side vomiting from sea sickness. Now that was memorable.

  2. I've never been on a cruise, but there was a time my elementary school class went on a field trip on one. We took a tour of the ship while it was docked.

I don't really get seasick. I may not feel exactly hungry for the first 30 minutes on a boat, but after that I've adjusted and I'm fine.

I've been to the point it doesn't feel right back on land. Not sickness, but more of a loss of balance in a shower or other confined space after getting off a boat.
