«Holiday Bell Ringers»

You know what I'm talking about. This time of year you'll find them standing at the doors of establishments like shopping malls and grocery stores ringing their little bells for donations.

I've always wanted to walk up to one of those people and ask, "If I give you money, will you stop ringing that GOD DAMNED BELL?!"

I've just always been too kind, soft-spoken, and shy to actually say it to their face. I've mumbled it under my breath, though. I tell you, there's some things about the holidays I really hate...

Bah, humbug.

  4. I know someone who got fired for asking his Jewish boss if he was really a Christian, because he was always saying "Jesus".

  5. @ Vid: It's a figure of speech, it adds emphasis. Actually, if you did believe the Bible is the word of God, you wouldn't use God's name in vain anyway.

@ Six Legions: I do sometimes, too. But I've been trying to cut the habit just because of situations like this. "I thought you were an atheist!" I'm not a foul-mouthed person anyway.

@ Bunc: lol, I'm always in bah humbug mode this time of year. Feel free to say whatever you want, though. Merry Christmas to you, too. I even accept people praying for me; it doesn't do any good, but if they want to waste their time thinking about me, it's their choice.

@ Looney: Jesus Christ, that's not a reason to fire anyone. lol
