First and foremost, gameplay got very boring very fast. It's a shame too because there's a lot that could have been done to make it a more fun game to play.<br /><br />But the biggest reason it didn't do well? The graphics were utterly abysmal even for its time. Couple that with crash bugs and it left a lot of room for improvement. Really I was surprised that Maxis ever released SimCopter in the state that it was in.<br /><br />Oh well.
