«Pocket Inventory»

Well, I called in for jury duty and the trial set for today was canceled. Now I have to call on the 9th after 5pm for further instructions.

As I promised earlier, here's an inventory of my pockets. We'll assume I'm dressed as I would be if you met me out on the street; fully clothed, with my vest and coat on. I usually carry things in my jeans, trench coat, and (mainly) my vest. Some of the items I carry are quite random.

Pants (5 pockets)

  • 4GB thumb drive
  • house keys
  • wallet
Trench coat (5 pockets)
  • 3 feet of CAT 6 networking cable
  • atomic fireball candy
  • checkbook
  • earplugs
  • fake rose petal
  • wint-o-green mints
Scott-e-vest (29 pockets)
  • 2 AAA batteries
  • 2 sets of earplugs
  • 5 hair ties
  • carmex lip ointment
  • comb
  • earbuds (wired through the vest)
  • folding scissors
  • green laser pointer
  • gum
  • hand sanitizer
  • LED flashlight
  • leatherman micro
  • lighter
  • micro-fiber cloth (for cleaning glasses)
  • MP3 player
  • napkins
  • non-functioning mini-flashlight
  • pen
  • sheet of paper
  • spare shoelaces
  • titanium spork
I have plenty more room in the vest, and several empty pockets still. The vest has a few deep pockets that I can make surprisingly large items disappear into, as well as 2 water bottle holders that I sometimes use.

«Laser Drawing»

I did a minor change to the layout, if you've been here before you may have to clear your cache and refresh (or hold Shift and click refresh to do a forced-reload). You'll notice black horizontal lines on both sides of the main blog body.

My dad got a new camera. So for once I finally have a camera at my disposal that allows me to do long exposure times. So, naturally, I get out my green super laser and draw stuff on the wall with it. I got my laser from Wicked Lasers (Yes, that's a referral link. If you buy something using my referral I get a percentage in store credit.)

Marf written with a laser
It's very simple to do:

  1. Set up a camera on a tripod in a dim room, facing a blank wall.
  2. Set the camera for a very long exposure (or bulb exposure).
  3. Start taking the picture, and during the exposure time write stuff on the blank wall with the laser.
  4. ???
  5. Profit!

The only downside is you can't see what you're writing as you're writing it. Since it's a blank wall, you don't even have a point of reference. So anything you draw looks like a little kid's drawing.

Stick figure drawn with a laser
G-head with long nose drawn with a laser
That last one is an example of what I use to draw as a kid. It's the capital letter "G" turned into a head with a long nose... and nose hair.

And no Monique, these are not worthy of Doodle Page...

«Ninjas, Pirates, and Sharks with Laser Beams»

Ok, new poll is up. In the event you're reading this some time in the future when there's a different poll, this one's about a fight between a ninja, pirate, and a shark with a laser beam attached to its head. The last one expired before I wanted it to. I forgot to set the expiration date, and I think it defaults to a week. This one I just gave about a year, I'll remove it myself when I want a different poll.

The results of the last poll, "Do you support Anonymous's war on Scientology?" was an overwhelming 10 "Yes" out of 10 total votes. I suppose that says more about the audience I've targeted more than an accurate polling of the general public.

I think the general public wants to see a mutual annihilation of both sides. But they don't quite understand what Anonymous is. They are not hackers on steroids like the media says. The media only says that because it sounds more exciting.

And I'm not saying much about Super Tuesday because I'm sure it's being blogged to death by enough people. I'll just say that my local state of Alaska voted for Obama on the democratic side, and I think we as Alaskans made the correct choice.
