«Google AdSense Verification»

Google AdSense must really want to make sure I am who I say I am. I don't know if they've had identity problems with some of their users or what.

I originally got AdSense for my website, now I'm using it both there and here. When I first signed up, they made a couple of small deposits in my bank account (a few cents is all). I then had to enter the amounts of those deposits, so they know it's my bank account. PayPal does the same thing. Now, several months later, they want to verify my mailing address and phone number. I don't know if this is a new thing they're doing or what.

I've already verified my phone number. You click a "call now" button and they immediately call you. When you answer you get a recorded voice asking you to enter your 6-digit verification number from the website, followed by the # key. With the address thing, I have to wait for a post card in the mail with another 6-digit number on it. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery. Conventional mail is so slow, isn't it?

All this and I still haven't seen a dime from it yet. I just don't get enough traffic or clicks on my ads. I think I've had it for 6 months now. In that time I've made $28.24 USD. I won't be paid until I reach $100.00 USD. But in no way is this a plea for any of you to click on the ads just for me, because that would be against the Terms of Service. I remember reading that somewhere in there. Only click on ads that you are genuinely interested in. (A chance to expand your interests, maybe? lol).

Oh, and because the last few posts have been without an image, here's one for you. Completely unrelated:

Deception / Hide where you're least likely to be found
