«C-Block Bidding Closed»

The C-Block bidding for the 700mhz spectrum has closed at a price of $4,713,823,000. That's over the 4.6 billion reserve price that was set. So this block will be required to give its customers the right to download any application they want on their mobile device, and the right to use any device they want on the network. And I think that's great.

That's been the main problem with the iPhone. It wasn't open to 3rd party programs, and you can only use AT&T with it. Won't be having any of that in the C-Block of the 700mhz spectrum.

We won't know who won it until all the bidding is done for the other blocks, but speculation is leaning toward Google. I hope it was them. I hope they have some grand plan for a nation wide, free high speed wireless network. Remember, for Google the more people that are on the internet seeing their ads, the better. Only downside of that is a lot of ISPs would go out of business, who can compete with free? I say unlimited access to the internet should be free anyway.

«OMFG, We didn't all die!»

Asteroid ImpactSo it looks like we didn't all die from 2007 TU24, so I guess the Large Hadron Collider is once again, the next on the list. Notice, however, that the media didn't really cover the asteroid until after it passed?

I don't believe the Large Hadron Collider is a threat either. The deal with it is, there's a chance of creating micro black holes. Of course, that freaks a lot of people out. As the most supported theory goes, Hawking Radiation will cause a micro black hole to evaporate before it can interact with anything, thus avoiding the disaster of the mini black hole consuming Earth. One reason I'm inclined to believe it poses no threat is because we've been bombarded by far more energetic particles from nature, that had a greater chance of creating a micro black hole on Earth. In other words, nature's already did it and we survived just fine.

I remember seeing a list of 20 ways the world could end suddenly, and particle accelerator mishap was on the list. So was asteroid impact and rouge black hole. Ah, here's the list:

Twenty Ways the World Could End Suddenly

  1. Asteroid Impact
  2. Gamma-ray Burst
  3. Collapse of the Vacuum
  4. Rogue Black Holes
  5. Giant Solar Flares
  6. Reversal of Earth’s Magnetic Field
  7. Flood-basalt Volcanism
  8. Global Epidemics
  9. Global Warming
  10. Ecosystem Collapse
  11. Biotech Disaster
  12. Particle Accelerator Mishap
  13. Nanotechnology Disaster
  14. Environmental Toxins
  15. Global War
  16. Robots Take Over
  17. Mass Insanity
  18. Alien Invasion
  19. Divine Intervention
  20. Someone Wakes up and Realizes it was all a Dream

«Scientology has Been Google Bombed»

The Dangerous Cult of Scientology has been Google bombed to the top result for the search "dangerous cult". What's also funny is the description preview you see in the results. "Living in a Dangerous Environment - Drug and Alcohol Problems..."
Google search for 'Dangerous Cult', Scientology as first result.
Although, I don't think it took much to get it to its rightful place in the Google search results.

«The Real Way to Wage War on Scientology»

Ok, a moment of seriousness... In order for the War on Scientology to work, the DDoSing does need to stop, it doesn't really help anything other than getting media attention. They've got the media's attention now. The February 10th Protest is a very big step in the right direction, if it goes as planned.

Scientology: XENU TV Speaks to Anonymous

Watch his other videos while you're at it.

This guy knows how to proceed properly. Letters to your congressmen/government officials should be included in the War. Public protests will also get media attention, and are not illegal (if kept peaceful). Spreading information about Xenu, body thetans, etc. to the general public will also help, because anyone not properly brainwashed up to OT III will not take their beliefs seriously.

If it were just their crazy beliefs I wouldn't have much of a problem with them. But they actively abuse copyright laws, infiltrate governments, threaten innocent people, suppress freedom of speech, even kill people. They are, by all accounts a dangerous cult. The public needs to be aware of that and do something about it. Also, the act of charging people to belong, yet still being tax exempt is just wrong.

On another note, this blog wasn't intended to be an anti-Scientology blog. That's just what I've cared about lately. As my interests and passions change, so will the content and main points of the blog.

«Rules for public protests»

Anonymous has a set of rules one should follow if you participate in the February 10 Protest against Scientology. I encourage you to join their cause and participate. I would myself, but I'm about 700 miles from the nearest Scientology center. (Ketchikan is 742 miles from Anchorage and 699 miles from Seattle.)

Here are some confirmed locations. (May have slow load times, Scientology is performing their own attacks)

Here are the rules:

Rule #0: Rules 1 and 2 of the internet still apply. Your memes are not, at this juncture, something that the real world can appreciate. Although meme speak between fellow Anonymous is acceptable, focus on the target and keep it to a minimum.

Rule #1: Stay cool.

Rule #2: Stay cool, especially when harassed. You are an ambassador of Anonymous. Although individuals trying to disrupt your demonstration will get on your nerves, you must not lose your temper. Doing so will harm the protest and tarnish the reputation of Anonymous.

Rule #3: Comply with the orders of law enforcement officers above all else. Doing otherwise is harmful the demonstration as a whole and may compromise your performance as a human being. Do not request badge numbers unless you are being treated in a very abusive manner, as doing so will anger officers.

Rule #4: Notify city officials. Most jurisdictions either have rules about public protests, or would prefer to be notified that they are taking place. Know the rules for your jurisdiction and abide by them.

Rule #5: Always be across the street from the object being protested.

Rule #6: In the absence of a road, find another natural barrier between yourself and the target of protest. Doing so will make it more difficult for individuals hostile to your cause to come and harass you.

Rule #7: Stay on public property. You may be charged for trespassing if you do not.

Rule #8: No violence.

Rule #9: No weapons. The demonstration is a peaceful event. Your weapons. You will not need them.

Rule #10: No alcohol or pre-drinking. Violating this rule may easily precipitate a violation of rules 1 and 2.

Rule #11: NO graffiti, destruction, or vandalism.

Rule #12: If you want to do something stupid, pick another day. These should be self explanatory. Violation of these rules during a demonstration will tarnish the reputation of Anonymous, harm the demonstration itself and leave you vulnerable to attention from law enforcement.

Rule #13: Anonymous is legion. Never be alone. Isolation during a protest marks you as a target for handlers who wish to provoke an angry reaction from you and other hostiles. In keeping with this principle...

Rule #14: Organize in squads of 10 to 15 people.

Rule #15: One or two megaphones per squad. A megaphone is helpful for maintaining the overall cohesion of a demonstration and spreading your message. However, too many will confuse the public and render you hearing impaired.

Rule #16: Know the dress code. Forming a loose yet reasonable dress code for protest members will help to maintain cohesion and get the public to take you seriously.

Rule #17: Cover your face. This will prevent your identification from videos taken by hostiles, other protesters or security. Use scarves, hats and sunglasses. Masks are not necessary, and donning them in the context of a public demonstration is forbidden in some jurisdictions.

Rule #18: DO NOT take ID or credit cards. This will prevent your definitive identification in case you do something unseemly and get noticed by law enforcement.

Rule #19: Bring water.

Rule #20: Wear good shoes. Following these rules will assure your comfort during the demonstration. Keep in mind that demonstrations may often be quite lengthy.

Rule #21: Signs, flyers, and phrases. Have yours ready. Make sure that signs are large enough to read. Also ensure that the text on your signs and your phrases are pertinent to the target of the protest. Finally, prepare legible, uncomplicated and accurate flyers to hand out to those who wish to know more regarding the motivations behind your actions.

Finally, Rule #22: Document the demonstration. Videos and pictures of the event may be used to corroborate your side of the story if law enforcement get involved. Furthermore, posting images and videos of your heroic actions all over the internet is bound to generate win, exhorting other Anonymous to follow your glorious example.

If you follow these simple rules, the success of your action is virtually assured. However, keep in mind that the success of the demonstration as a whole hinges on the good behavior of all those who participate. Ignore these rules at your own peril. Follow them, and victory will be yours.

«February 10th, Worldwide»

Call to Action

Looks like February 10th isn't just in London. Now it's worldwide.

The video is correct, Anonymous isn't exactly some elite group of "hackers on steroids"(old video, I know.) They are everyone and they are no one. From your school teachers to your bag boys at the grocery. From lawyers and police to collage students. Sure, there are hackers as well (all walks of life, remember?). They are definitely not organized. It's more of a collective bandwagon effect. If enough of them think something is funny, then the rest of them follow.

Usually their raids are just for the lulz, but if their target deserves it, so much the better. Like the dangerous cult of Scientology. In the war on Scientology, they are taking on more of the role of Internet Vigilante. A lot of them are already saying the battle as been won. They made media attention and lulz were had.

Oh, in case you want to know what happened to Lisa McPherson and Paulette Cooper by the hands of Scientology. Or what Operation Snow White was.

I'm not saying Anonymous is innocent, but their cause is just in the War on Scientology.

«Google AdSense Verification»

Google AdSense must really want to make sure I am who I say I am. I don't know if they've had identity problems with some of their users or what.

I originally got AdSense for my website, now I'm using it both there and here. When I first signed up, they made a couple of small deposits in my bank account (a few cents is all). I then had to enter the amounts of those deposits, so they know it's my bank account. PayPal does the same thing. Now, several months later, they want to verify my mailing address and phone number. I don't know if this is a new thing they're doing or what.

I've already verified my phone number. You click a "call now" button and they immediately call you. When you answer you get a recorded voice asking you to enter your 6-digit verification number from the website, followed by the # key. With the address thing, I have to wait for a post card in the mail with another 6-digit number on it. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery. Conventional mail is so slow, isn't it?

All this and I still haven't seen a dime from it yet. I just don't get enough traffic or clicks on my ads. I think I've had it for 6 months now. In that time I've made $28.24 USD. I won't be paid until I reach $100.00 USD. But in no way is this a plea for any of you to click on the ads just for me, because that would be against the Terms of Service. I remember reading that somewhere in there. Only click on ads that you are genuinely interested in. (A chance to expand your interests, maybe? lol).

Oh, and because the last few posts have been without an image, here's one for you. Completely unrelated:

Deception / Hide where you're least likely to be found

«Poor reserch results in sub-standard reporting of DDoS»

There have been some tech stats released on the DDoS attacks on Scientology. What people don't realize is, these are stats for attacks on one website domain. There were many attacks on many Scientology website domains at the same time. Their primary target was Scientology.org, but when that went down, Anonymous shifted their attention to other Scientology sites.

I haven't been doing too much today, just looking over some other people's blogs. I've been over at the Blogger Help Group, specifically in the Share Your Blog board. They have been having problems with spammers posting about New Delhi female escorts, it's rather annoying.

Here's a couple of blogs that caught my attention:
Displaced Man
Roach's ramblings
Tick. Time. Tick.

«Falling Sand Game... Wee.»

Because I felt like being brain dead today, I played the Falling Sand Game. I used the wall texture around the sides and bottom, turned the salt and sand off, put oil and water at max. I put a bunch of 1 pixel size spouts all over the place and a line across the top, with spaces to allow the oil to fall through. Then I lit the stream of oil on fire and put a small spot of plant in the water.

Now I'm sitting here listening to music and watching it. The plant will consume the water, until it hits the burning oil, the plant will mostly burn up. Then the water will refill the screen until it hits a spot of plant, and the process will start over again. For some reason, this is enough to entertain me right now.

No, I'm not high.

«Scientology Raid in London on Feb 10»

Looks like there's going to be a physical raid on the Church of Scientology in London on February 10, 2008; 146 Queen Victoria Street. I'm not sure how many will actually show up, but this may prove to be interesting.

CALLING ALL THOSE AGAINST SCIENTOLOGY. The time has come to take to the streets in this war against THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY. Anonymous will be at: The London church of Scientology 146 Queen Victoria Street London EC4V 4BY. FEB 10th @ 11AM. Wear a mask of your choosing.

«Someone Actually Visits Realm of Marf!»

Speaking of Realm of Marf and the Alien Adoption Agency (see yesterday's post), apparently someone who visits Realm of Marf at their school joined A3 because of me. I didn't even know that many people visited my site. I mean sure, I have Google Analytics set up and I can see it's visited daily. But I figured those were just automatic systems scanning for an email address to spam. I have noticed an increase in spam since I made that site, although the Gmail spam filters are really good at catching it.

I've been thinking about making a Half Life 2: Deathmatch map similar to dm_ccelerator_v4, hosted at http://singe.telefragged.com/hl2/maps/ (scroll down a bit). Possibly what I would doPush Button, Receive Bacon is have 4 different bases, and a cloverleaf intersection in the center. That's if I ever get around to doing it. I have a Portal map that's nearing completion, but I got burned out on mapping and haven't returned to it yet. Unfortunately, that seems to happen to a lot of things with me.

Eh, If I think of anything else today I'll make another post. Until then, here's a random picture.

«Realm of Marf»

I doubt anyone would even notice the similarities (color scheme especially) of this blog and Realm of Marf. In fact, unless you know me personally you've probably never even heard of that website. Realm of Marf was a little project I did to teach myself HTML. The GooglePages servers are too limiting to do what I wanted for a website. So as much as I didn't want to admit it, it turned into a blog. One that required a lot of manual coding for each entry, and I'm just too lazy to do that on a regular schedule.

I suppose my ultimate goal for a website would be similar to the Alien Adoption Agency (A3 for short), a text-based role playing game. I play A3. My alien name is Marf, game ID 96151. If I ever were to make a similar game, I'd have NPC battling as well as PvP. And I wouldn't do an alien theme. A game like that requires server-side scripting and databases, none of which GooglePages supports.

The stock market didn't crash as hard as I expected it to today. World stock markets plummeted on January 21, from Canada to Australia to India to Europe to China. Here's a Wikipedia article on the issue. I've never been one to watch the stock market all that closely; I don't own any stocks. I'm definitely not a risk taker.

Do you believe there's some people saying the Scientology website is getting more traffic lately, saying it like it's a good thing for Scientology? It has more traffic because it's being DDoS attacked by Anonymous. See the Project Chanology website for their plan of attack (Note: I personally have no affiliation with this site, nor does this blog).

«OMFG, We're all going to die!»

Scientology closed due to thetansOh wait, that's just a conspiracy about 2007 TU24. That's an asteroid due to make a near miss of Earth on January 29th, 2008, at a distance of 1.4 times the distance of the Moon.

What's that picture about? The Legion of Anonymous has declared war on the "Church" of Scientology. In my opinion, they deserve it. They're nothing but a cult.

The first time I actually heard of them was from South Park. The episode named "Trapped in the Closet." Soon after it aired one of their own quit (Isaac Hayes, the voice of Chef). He was fine with South Park making fun of other religions, but not his own.

There's a video of Tom Cruise floating around the internet babbling about how good Scientology is for 8 minutes, none of what he says makes sense. Really makes you see how badly he's brainwashed. I'd link to it, but the "Church" of Scientology keeps getting the video removed, so the video's location is always changing.
