I was hired by a friend to speed up their computer. As far as I could tell, the main reason for it running slow was Norton Antivirus itself. I hate Norton... So I uninstalled that and put AVG on instead. I taught her a few things about computers and I deleted a ton of temporary files. I scanned for spyware with Ad Aware and didn't find any.
Google took some images off their street-level view option for Google maps because of a government order. They said the images showed guard positions and other tactical information about government bases. However, the pictures were taken from public streets. Anyone is allowed to take pictures from a public street and distribute them on the internet. So why target Google?
I don't think Google should have given in like they did. They probably just didn't want to raise a big stink about it.
