One flash animation that seems to haunt my random thoughts is Mr. Happy Face. Oh, look... Someone put it on YouTube. So now it can haunt your thoughts as well.

Mr. Happy Face

There is an old series of flash animations I watched back in the day that comes to mind every now and then. Salad Fingers, set in a post-apocalyptic world after some "great war". The main character has gone insane (to say the least)... The first episode is a little off, at least more so than the others. They're not available on YouTube because of copyright infringement, but you can watch them from the website.

This one is one of my favorite flash animations, deep in the realm of noir. If you don't smile like the rest of the crowd, you're punished. There's a lot of hidden meaning in this video.

  1. That was intense...

..... BUT, I gotta tell you, having you say "back in the day" totally made me lose it. Back in the day Marf? What, like middle school?

    Sorry, couldn't help it.

    Knowing you, that's probably true.

I think it should considered outlandish to say "back in the day" if you are under 35. Personally.

  2. I say "back in the day" about a lot of things internet related. The internet is not all that old, after all.

I like saying "back in the day"...

  3. Yeah, guess you're entitled to say whatever you want, it is YOUR space.

It's just weird to hear someone 15 years younger than me say it.

  4. I think I've had a similar discussion with one of my friends before. It does feel a little strange to say "back in the day" at our age, but it does apply in some situations about some topics.

  5. And it is a very true statement about the internet.

I'm sure my giggles had nothing to do w/ the fact that today I realized next year will be my 20th H.S. reunion.

  6. Hmmm. Night of the Killer Happy Face. Revenge of the Killer Happy Face. The Killer Happy Face strikes again. Killer Happy Face vs. Peace Dove.

    So many possibilities!

  7. @ Looney: I haven't really checked to see if there's any sequels. Usually with things like that, the first is the best.
